Having had a fair share of her luck and glamour in the world of visual entertainment through movies, stage acts and ads, the well known actor Priety Zinta is exploring the world of sports for further prospects. This began with her involvement as one of the major sponsors of Mohali team of the IPL T20. And now she is more into cricket as the season for the next IPL T20 approaches.

The actor is all set to cash in the IPL T20 to the extent she can. Recently, she has announced that she will be organizing a camp for budding cricketers, cricketers who have been playing at the district levels and below. The idea behind this camp is said to offer a chance to these players to show off their talent and thereby get into the national or international level.

Her Mohali team is set to hold a camp cum tournament at Chandigarh and Mohali. The camp invites cricketers from Punjab, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir as well as Himanchal Pradesh. Before the tournament there will be a seminar that will address the youngsters to educate them on the ethics of the game.

To further promote the event, she has roped in the state cricket associations including the Punjab Cricket Association. The tournament will not need any extra promotions as already the major V channels are running the news again and again. This is not a criticism. It is in fact beneficial to both the actress as well as the teams participating in the mini tournament.

The dates and schedules have not been yet made public, (at least I could not find the dates) but whenever it is going to happen, it is bound to attract a major share of public attention from people who are cricket fans as well as from people who are the actor’s fans.

In an interview, Preity Zinta said that her aim is to promote the budding players of this region. She also added that she wants people to have fun with this endeavor of hers. She said that the proposed tournament will be played in a league form, with a total of 11 matches.

This is very good news for IPL fans. We now have a mini IPL besides the regular IPL T20. Maybe we can call it the Preity T20 series. Three cheers to the brave actor!
