Sri Lanka today offered to play a charity match with an Indian cricket team to raise money for the victims of the Mumbai terror attacks.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) chairman Arjuna Ranatunga has spoken to former BCCI chief Sharad Pawar and has proposed a charity match for the benefit of terror victims.

"I have spoken to Pawar and have offered our unconditional support to the BCCI. The SLC condemns the terror attacks. We are ready to a play a charity match in aid of all those who have been affected", Ranatunga said.

"We are ready to send a full-strength team for the purpose. The SLC wants to help in their own humble way", he added.

More than 180 people were killed in the terror strikes in Mumbai last week which also forced England to call off the remainder of the seven-match One-day series against India.

The high-profile Champions League was also postponed while the world series of the Indian cricket League was cancelled because of the carnage.
