Career Profile:
When Sehwag exploded onto the scene with 70 against New Zealand the
comparisons began. He was likened to his idol Sachin Tendulkar because of
their similar height. That though is where the comparison stops. Both may
be inspire terror in the hearts of bowlers but their style can't be more
different.
Sehwag is a batsman who trusts his instincts and goes hard after the ball.
His ability to smash any bowling attack to smithereens is known to one and
all. When he gets going they say there is just one man who can stop him;
Virender Sehwag. The Najafgarh born batsman is a terror for bowlers in all
forms of the game. His style doesn't seem to change no matter what format
he plays in.
He has shares the honour of being the only the third batsman in the
history of test cricket to score a triple century twice. The other two
gentlemen who achieved the feat were Sir Don Bradman and Brian Lara. He
also holds the record for the fastest triple hundred in tests which he
scored against the South Africans in Chennai.
